History: Raised in upper class Midgar, Vincent was brought up with very high standards to strive for. He tried his best to live up to that, and always put his schoolwork first above all else. Never much of a social person, Vincent kept to himself most of the time. Most of the other students saw him as strange anyway, and he grew to view himself as an outcast. Strangeness aside, he was otherwise a very calm, mild-mannered student. He was even accepted to the prestigious ShinRa academy where he entered training to eventually become a Turk.

Everything seemed stable with the beginning of his Turks career, until Vincent started admiring the wrong girl, Lucrecia, who he later found out was already involved with another scientist, Hojo. When he found out about the relationship, Vincent was upset, but wanted nothing other than Lucrecia's happiness. He was content to settle back and admire her in secret.

While he was glad that she was happy, he still harbored conflicted feelings. These doubts deepened when he learned of the experiments that were to be done. He confronted Hojo, who informed Vincent that Lucrecia wanted it that way. Vincent objected vehemently, but the paranoid scientist had started bringing a gun to the lab, with which he shot Vincent. This led to his being genetically modified by Hojo and hidden away.

When he awoke and escaped confinement, Vincent had been altered drastically. He since became even quieter, and more gloomy in disposition. Yet, some of his old personality remained intact, and he decided it best to please his teachers and parents by entering university and finding a direction.

Since going to university, he has come out of his shell somewhat, still preferring privacy above all else. A short relationship and attempt to move on from the past didn't go as well as expected. Still, he came to trust some in the ones he grew close to, and has seen the value of other people's company. This led to him trying to move on from the past for a while. Yet... something which bothered him resurfaced, part of his reason for transferring schools. He believes that his demonic side is awakening further, and wants to avoid it worsening. This is something which he keeps intensely secretive, and wants to refrain from dealing with at all costs.

During his second year of university, people from the past resurfaced, including Hojo and Lucrecia. Vincent told Lucrecia that he still felt the same about her, and over the next few months, they started developing a new relationship. Unfortunately, Hojo would still do anything to break them apart. Between that and the threat of the four beings inside him, Vincent has had to be constantly wary of danger.

Yet despite that, he and Lucrecia have deepend their relationship. They've had their share of trouble. Lucrecia's attempt to calm Vincent's monsters drove the girl to hide out in a cave, while Chaos threatened to drive Vincent insane. Fortunately, Vincent found her and brought her back. Later on, Lucrecia would find out about a certain April Fools' prank which Vincent would have preferred to keep to himself. The couple didn't talk for a while, but they eventually worked it out. Another incident that occurred was Alex Krycek's attempted kidnapping of Lucrecia for use in experiments. With the help of Galian Beast- and later Chaos- Vincent tracked them and was able to rescue and bring Lucrecia back. Later, Lucrecia would help Vincent during the school-wide brainwashing incident, stopping him and his inner monsters before havoc could be wrought.

Roughly when his junior year began, Vincent got an idea in mind... and began contemplating a further step in their relationship by proposing to Lucrecia... as if they haven't already pledged eternal love to one another already. He finally gained the courage to do so on Christmas Eve, to which the she (of course) said yes. Nothing could have made him happier, and in his own quiet way he celebrated this success. For most of the following months, he spent most of his time daydreaming about the upcoming day. He and Lucrecia both kept the news quiet to Hojo, who was too preoccupied with his own work to care... until the day when he mistakenly found out.

Hojo began plotting a scheme of revenge, which both Vincent and Lucrecia unfortunately became ensnared in. Lucrecia was captured and infected with a virus designed to attack Vincent's system, destabilizing his inner monsters. While under its influence, Vincent had no control over what the monsters did- as a result, he attacked at least two students (Larxene and Kain, as Chaos and Hellmasker respectively), and posed a threat to many others. Only half-sane, he fled to escape in the woods. Lucrecia, with the help of Mulder, caught up to Death Gigas (and later dealt with Galian), and subdued him. After that, Lucrecia found herself with a dilemma, and called upon the help of Grimoire to save his son. By placing a Protomateria into Vincent, she was able to calm the monsters. With the help of Hojo's notes (stolen by Mulder), Lucrecia also reversed the damage Hojo's virus had done, bringing Vincent back to normal. When he woke, Vincent was grateful to Lucrecia, but despite the added control he now had over the monsters, he feared what he was capable of. He fled and hid in the coffin at Nibelheim until a distraught Lucrecia spoke to Grimoire. He shook his son back to his senses and sent him back to find his fiance. Vincent's heart sank when he arrived to find Lucrecia's engagement ring gone. The two had an intense, remorseful conversation. Vincent was finally able to open up further to her then, and truly express the depth of his feeling. Since then, they repaired their relationship and finished plans for the marriage.

Vincent married Lucrecia on May 25, 2008, and has since then enjoyed being with the woman he'd always desired.

All seemed to go well after that, as they enjoyed being newly married. But in fall of the same year, another devious plot was unfolding. Krycek had begun working with Hojo again, getting closer to information about Lucrecia and the Jenova experiments. Unknown to Vincent, Krycek posted a message to Lucrecia as him, informing her to meet him in the woods. There he kidnapped Lucrecia, and took her away to an abandoned building, where he subjected her to an experiment using the entity known as the black oil. Vincent tracked her whereabouts and charged at the building, turning into Galian Beast to fight Krycek... as well as a contingent of ShinRa Soldiers who'd also showed up. Galian was badly injured, forcing Death Gigas to finish the battle. However, the Soldiers were successful in their kidnapping, taking Lucrecia back to Midgar. Along with Greg, the firearms professor, Vincent made a second rescue attempt, this time successfully recovering Lucrecia. However, she was plagued by the black oil still. Vincent had no choice but to trust in Mulder's help in order to obtain the vaccine to save her. Along with Grimoire, they administered it, destroying the oily entity for good. Vincent helped her recover from that trauma as the year ended and went into the next.

An Inquisition invaded campus early in 2009, using a power to dampen magical powers. As a result, Vincent had a brief reprieve from the monsters within, as did Lu from Jenova, both reverting to regular human beings. Vincent still offered his skills as a gunman in the resulting conflict, knowing that it was for everyone's good to return things to normal. He also assisted against the next attack of by inhuman enemies, joining in the final, main struggle that ended it. Later that summer, Vincent was replaced by an alternative double much like others on campus experienced. His other self was a talkative, flirtatious detective, much to Lucrecia's annoyance. This led Lucrecia to trap him in the closet for his own good. However, the alternate universe Hojo's presence awoke Galian- a version who didn't know Lucrecia as the regular one did. The Hojo subdued the beast, and Vincent slept until... the regular version found himself inexplicably in the closet. He remembered nothing from the experience, with only network posts as a lasting reminder of what happened.

Earlier in the year, Vincent accidentally unleashed Galian in Russian class, his wrath at Krycek still very close to the surface at times. Otherwise, his monsters would remain at normal levels... until in the fall, when they began to be stirred up slightly more than normal... but what that might mean, he isn't yet aware.

Personality: Vincent is a reserved, introverted person who prefers to keep to himself. Some might see this as brooding, which it sometimes is. At other times, he simply prefers keeping his distance to think. He has a slightly morose attitude, and tends to be pessimistic in outlook. He considers this being "realistic," however, and is generally able to look at a situation with intense objectivity. Despite the stoic exterior he mostly shows, he still feels a need to put others before him, and will always look out for his close friends. He is ruthlessly protective of his loved ones.

Underneath his enigmatic surface, Vincent is a passionate person. He's not as cold as he might appear- nor is he as uncaring as even he believes himself to be. When he IS provoked enough to care about something, it's best not to stand in his way. If Vincent believes in a cause, he will fight for it to the bitter end, despite the consequences. He can be obsessive and prone to guilt, but he always ends up fighting for his beliefs in the end.

Appearance/physical attributes: Tall, thin, and pale, Vincent has a distinctive appearance. He often provokes fear in those who run across him, even without necessarily intending to. He's not as weak (or scary!) as his looks might suggest, and exhibits a quiet, yet imposing strength. His hair is long and black, usually disheveled. He also has a preference for black clothes... with the occasional blood red thrown in, of course.

Fighting is something which Vincent is capable of, although he chooses not to until it becomes necessary. He prefers guns to other weaponry, and has decent agility and speed. The experiments have turned his eyes blood red, and his left arm below the elbow is covered with a golden metallic claw. Four demons also reside within him. While he has the capability to transform into any of them if provoked enough, it can only happen if he has enough energy to do so. He can't really control the monsters, which makes him an even more unpredictable threat to face if he does transform.
